Trading Card Lane

Manage your shop with an AI assistant

Connect an AI assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to your Trading Card Lane shop and ask it, in plain English, to list cards, build pages, check orders and more.

What it is

Trading Card Lane runs an MCP server (Model Context Protocol, the standard way AI assistants connect to other services). Your assistant signs in to your shop with your permission and then uses the same tools you use in your dashboard. You can stop it at any time.

Connect your assistant

The wording of menus may differ in your app; look for connectors, integrations or MCP servers.

  • Claude: in Settings → Connectors, add a custom connector with the server address above, then sign in to Trading Card Lane when asked and press Allow.
  • ChatGPT: where your plan offers custom connectors, add the server address as a connector (MCP server) in Settings → Connectors, then sign in and allow access.
  • Cursor: add this to your mcp.json, then sign in when Cursor asks:
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "tradingcardlane": {
          "url": "https://tradingcardlane.com/mcp"
        }
      }
    }

You sign in with your usual Trading Card Lane login (password or Google). The consent screen shows the app's name (chosen by the app, not verified by us), where you'll be sent back to, and what it can do.

What it can do

  • Listings and stock: Search the card catalogue, create and edit draft listings, publish, reprice and end listings.
  • Shop design: Pages, home page, menus, announcement bar, theme colours and images.
  • Orders: See orders and mark them as shipped.
  • Sales links and insights: Create sales links, see your sales and price trends.

New listings and pages start as drafts that buyers can't see. Order tools include buyers' names and postal addresses for orders you need to post, never their email addresses.

What needs your confirmation

Publishing listings or pages, changing a live listing's price or stock, ending listings, marking orders as shipped (which emails the buyer) and creating sales links are separate tools marked as needing confirmation, so your assistant asks you before using them. Changes to your live home page, menus, announcement bar and theme take effect straight away (as in the dashboard), so they ask first too.

Activity, undo and disconnecting

Every change an app makes is listed in Dashboard → Connected apps. For 7 days you can undo new draft listings, draft edits, new pages, page drafts and changes to your home page, menus, announcement bar and theme, as long as nothing changed them since. Publishing, ending, price changes, shipping, sales links and image uploads are reversed in the dashboard.

To stop an app, press Disconnect on the same page. It loses access straight away.

If your application is pending

While we review your application to sell, your assistant can search the catalogue, prepare drafts and design your shop. Publishing, sales links and orders stay off until your application is approved.
