See the actual card, not a stock photo.
Live Verified cards were photographed live by the seller, next to a one-time handwritten code. That means fewer fakes slipping through, fewer “not as described” surprises, and far fewer disputes for buyers and sellers alike.
What the badge means
- ✓ The seller had this exact card when the photos were taken.
- ✓ The photos show its condition at capture time, front and back.
- ✓ The photos were taken live, on the date stamped on them, and haven't been used before.
What it doesn't mean
- ✗ It is not a grade.
- ✗ It does not prove the card is authentic.
- ✗ It doesn't show changes after the capture date, which is why badges expire after 60 days.
In short: Live Verified proves the seller had the card and shows its condition at capture time; it is not a grade and does not prove authenticity.
How it works
The seller scans a one-time QR code
From their dashboard, the seller opens a verification session. The QR code works once, on one phone, and must be opened within 10 minutes.
The live camera opens
Photos can only be taken through the live camera on that page. There is no upload button, so pictures from a gallery, a web search or another listing can't be used.
A handwritten code goes next to the card
Each session has a fresh 5-character code. The seller writes it on paper and keeps it beside the card, so every photo is tied to that moment.
Front, back and a tilt clip
The seller photographs the front and back, then records a 3-second clip tilting the card so you can see the holo, surface and edges move in the light.
We stamp and check every capture
Our server records the capture time, burns a visible “Live Verified” stamp with the date and code into each photo, and rejects any image that has been uploaded to Trading Card Lane before.
For sellers
Stand out in search
Verified listings carry the green badge everywhere, and buyers can filter to Live Verified cards only.
Bulk mode
Tick up to 50 listings, scan one QR code and work through the stack card by card, with progress and skip.
Re-verify every 60 days
We email a daily digest when photos expire, with a one-click link that preselects those cards for a bulk session.
Fewer disputes protect your payouts too: clear photos of the card you ship settle most “not as described” questions before they start. Start verifying
Questions
Does Live Verified mean the card is genuine?
No. It proves the seller had the card in hand and shows its condition at the time of capture. It is not an authenticity check. If a card turns out not to be as described, our buyer protection covers you.
Is it the same as a grade?
No. Grading companies such as PSA, BGS or CGC assess and encapsulate cards. Live Verified photos simply let you judge the condition yourself. For graded slabs, we also link to the grader's cert lookup and check PSA certs automatically where we can.
Why does the badge expire after 60 days?
Cards get handled, played and stored. After 60 days the badge changes to “Verification expired” so you always know how fresh the photos are. Sellers can re-verify in a couple of minutes.
Can a seller reuse old photos?
No. Photos can only be taken live, each session has a new handwritten code, and we reject any photo or clip whose exact file has been uploaded before.
What if the card I receive doesn't match the photos?
Open a dispute from your order within the buyer protection window. The Live Verified photos are used as evidence, which makes “not as described” cases quick and fair to resolve.
Do sellers need special equipment?
Just a phone with a camera and a pen and paper. It works in Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android, with nothing to install.
